Our Story

The team 2

I established Doggy Tired in 2014 after working for over 20 years as a Primary School Teacher and Learning Mentor. As a Learning mentor, I helped set up a programme called “Paws in the Classroom” where animals were used to support children express and deal with difficult emotions.

Dogs have always been part of my life and I currently have two rescue dogs, a Collie cross called Jess and a Jack Russell called Eddie. Eddie has been a difficult dog to train as he displayed a lot of aggression towards other dogs and unable to walk off-lead. With a great deal of work, love and patience, Eddie is now happy and well socialised, joining the other dogs on the field off-lead. Over the six years running Doggy Tired, I have gained a lot of experience working with anxious and reactive dogs, helping them socialise and gain confidence.

Dave, my husband, a retired Fire Fighter, has helped out at Doggy Tired from the start. He takes the more senior or more reactive dogs who prefer a quieter or more gentle stroll.

Liz recently joined Doggy Tired after previously working as a Primary School Teacher and SENDCo (Special Education Needs and Disabilities Coordinator). She also has a passion for animals and introduced guinea pigs into the schools she worked at as part of nurturing and emotional development with the children.

As a team, we are committed to giving your dogs 100% love, care and attention. They are not only exercised, they are nurtured.

Many people tell me that I have the best job in the world, I do, but along with this job comes huge responsibility. These dogs are precious members of your family and here at Doggy Tired we never forget that. We have an excellent reputation, and our customers stay with us for years.

By choosing us you know that your dog will be in safe hands and will be returned to you happy and ‘Doggy Tired’.

Cerys absolutely loves her time with Ann. She always arrives home “doggy tired” from her adventures and it’s great to know that she is so well cared for. Thanks, Ann, for your professional, reliable and VERY caring service.

The service given by Doggy Tired is wonderful. I get peace of mind that Wari is well looked after and then get the joy of seeing his adventures at the end of the day. I would highly recommend!

-Katie, Lancaster.

They’ve become part of the family. Lovely people, lovely service and cannot recommend enough.
